Brick & Masonary Cleaner TM

An inhibited acid-based cleaner for the removal of cement and mortar residues from clay face bricks, clay paving bricks, natural stone, slate, terracotta, glazed and unglazed ceramics.

Also suitable for etching concrete floors prior to coating. An inhibited acid prevents attacks and tarnishes to metal surfaces. Contains emulsifying detergents to remove oils and grease.

For light cleaning (cleaning of unhardened cement haze), dilute one part STONESHIELD BRICK & MASONRY CLEANER to 30 parts water. Coverage approx. 60m2 per litre.

For medium cleaning, dilute one part STONESHIELD BRICK & MASONRY CLEANER to 15 parts water. Coverage approx. 30 m2 per litre.

For heavy cleaning (cleaning of hardened grout), or for etching concrete floors, dilute one part STONESHIELD BRICK & MASONRY CLEANER to 5 parts water. Coverage approx. 10 m2 per litre.

Method of Application

Always test on a small area first to ensure suitability and the desired result. On glazed and non-porous surfaces, do not pre-dampen. On porous surfaces, always pre-dampen the surface to prevent the acid from being absorbed too rapidly. Remove excess water prior to application of STONESHIELD BRICK & MASONRY CLEANER.

For floors: apply diluted STONESHIELD BRICK & MASONRY CLEANER by mop, sponge or plastic watering can. For walls: apply diluted STONESHIELD BRICK & MASONRY CLEANER by spray, sponge or block brush. Allow 10 – 15 minutes for the product to work. Do not allow to dry out on the surface. Agitate with a nylon bristled brush or broom and then rinse well several times. If surfaces or tiles are to be sealed, ALWAYS neutralize the surface with STONESHIELD DEEP CLEAN. Neutralizing helps prevent sealer failure.

Not for use on marble, travertine, limestone, cement tiles and pavers or terrazzo. Certain clay face bricks contain copper residues and could turn green with use of STONESHIELD BRICK & MASONRY CLEANER. Always test first.

Ensure good ventilation and avoid breathing vapours. Avoid skin and eye contact. Wear goggles, gloves and suitable protective clothing when necessary. Keep out of reach of children and pets and store away from other chemicals. Do not allow contact with other sensitive surfaces.
