Encaustic Cement Tiles
Encaustic cement tiles usually comprise a base of cement containing an aggregate of granite chips (concrete) topped with a fine layer of pigmented cement.
The surface layer consists of multi-coloured styles and patterns varying in thickness from a few millimetres to a few centimetres. Encaustic tiles are handmade and finished in a hydraulic press. Encaustic tiles are generally, relatively low in porosity. Encaustic tiles are often pre-sealed to protect against grout staining during installation. Encaustic tiles require sealing to protect against surface wear and tear, staining as well as chemical attack from acids.
The best sealers for encaustic tiles are Stoneshield Colour-Enhancer™ and Stoneshield Natural-Look™. Both sealers are penetrating repellents.
Stoneshield Colour-Enhancer™ is a water-based, water, rain & stain repellent sealer. Provides a no-sheen, natural look finish with a colour enhancing finish. A penetrating sealer with invisible protection. Can be used both internally and externally.

Stoneshield Natural-Look™ is a solvent-based, water, rain & stain repellent sealer. Provides a no-sheen, natural look finish with no colour change. A penetrating sealer with invisible protection. Can be used both internally and externally.
