Cement Tiles, Cobbles & Paving
These products usually comprise a base of cement containing an aggregate of granite chips (concrete) topped with a layer of unpigmented or pigmented cement. The surface layer may vary in thickness from a few millimetres to ten centimetres.
These products may also be made entirely from pigmented cement containing a fine sand aggregate. These products are cast in moulds and the top surface may be cast to a smooth or textured surface finish. Cement tiles vary considerably in porosity depending on manufacturing methods and formulations. Certain cement tiles may be pre-sealed to protect against grout staining during installation. Cement tiles require sealing to protect against surface wear and tear, staining as well as chemical attack from acids.
